The Slaughter family has made a difference in the community by giving people second chances. Frank Slaughter provides inmates a second chance through the mentoring program at the Allegheny County Jail. His wife Tracy, who served in the Navy, mentors single mothers and provides care for children, seniors and the homeless at their home, which doubles as a community center. On October 24th, they received a second chance in the form of a new home.

We wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone who participated in the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition build. This was a rare opportunity to make such a difference in the lives of a very deserving family. We were very impressed with the way everyone rallied around this cause to get the Slaughter family a new house. Without everyone’s participation, the project would not have been possible.

Again, thanks for your participation.
